How to get here

Jumanji Bungalows is located in Drake Bay on the Peninsula de Osa in Costa Rica.
A remote place which makes a sure adventure getting here!

You can make your way over here by plain, boat, car or bus depending on budget, where you come from and time you are willing to spend traveling.

With the exception of coming by car we'll be there to pick you up from beach or airport/arrange your flight.

Flying

* From the capital San Jose fly straight in to Drake bay within 45min. with Sansa's turboprop powered engine by Pratt & Whitney where we will pick you up by arrival to take you to the hotel by car.

* Take the morning flight to 'Palmar Sur' and a taxi to 'Sierpe', here awaits you an hour and a half journey by boat. Traveling thru the biggest mangrove forest in Central America is a definite treat. For many a great way to start your adventure. After about an hour between the mangrove forest and stunning wide views you'll  come to the river mouth entering the ocean's realm for 15 min. crossing over to the Bay. Then take off you're shoes and get ready for a beach landing

Car

Adventure seekers with off-road experience can make it over by car. You absolutely need four-wheel-drive. Costarican roads are not always in good shape. The road from Chaqarita to Drake Bay is one with many holes, climbing and descending steep mountains, with small bridges and rivers to cross. We recommend venturing out this way only during the dry season. Dependent on the amount of rain rivers rise quickly and become a chocolate colored danger with often tedious/long waits for water levels to drop with little civilisation around. Be warned!

However Jumanji Bungalows is reachable by car. In dry season experienced drivers(!) taking your time with plenty of water on board, enjoying amazing views crossing the Peninsula this way! You are sure to realise where you are/how remote you are.

Bus

From the Capital San Jose (and various other cities) the bus will get you to Palmar Norte which takes along 7 hours. Take a taxi to Sierpe and enjoy the wet way in; thru river and ocean. Be sure to get to sierpe in time to catch a boat!

There is the possibility to come all the way by bus. A microbus goes once a day from Chaquarita to Drake Bay which will take about 3 hours of adventure and views on a bumpy road!

Coming from Puerto Jimenez there is a bus that goes once a day from Rincon to Drake Bay every day in the dry season at 12:00
