Dutch woman pursues dream in Costa Rica.
Somewhat over 5 years ago, Simone Julsing decided to leave to Costa
Rica, seeking adventures. At first she had a job as researcher and
guide, until she met her true love, a chef named Vladimir. They decided
to start a beach restaurant and, when this became a success, the couple
invested in a remote piece of jungle land in Drake Bay, a magnificent
remote bay in the south of the country. To build there own eco lodge.
´There was nothing, no infrastructure, absolutely nothing´, Simone says.
´Amongst other things, we had to construct a 500 meter long pipeline for
water supply.´ Meanwhile, her dream has become reality. There´s a hotel
and two bungalows, wíth restaurant and swimming pool. In the direct
surroundings there are possibilities to snorkeling, kayaking, horseback
riding, or hiking in the mountains. Simone never wants to leave again.
`In the Netherlands, I don´t see myself being happy to flush the toilet,
surfing the internet 24 hours a day, or go shopping. It´s so easy to
forget being grateful for what you got.´ From € 66 per person per
night.
